Smug married - 1 year on.

A few weeks ago it was our wedding anniversary (now if I felt old saying I was married, I feel even older now I actually have a wedding anniversary!)
We started the weekend celebrations on Saturday as I held my traditional "P in the park" (thanks Slink!) at Hyde Park. The weather behaved as we all relaxed in the sunshine. The theme was pink & green seeing as it was our anniversary weekend (I don't think I could have worn any more pink if I'd tried!). It all went swimmingly till I was stung by a wasp (first time ever) now I don't know if I was just being a brave soldier or if it was the ale numbing the pain (I think we know the answer!) but thankfully it didn't hurt as much as I'd feared all these years. Phew!
The next day (our actual anniversary) I'd booked afternoon tea at Sketch (see HERE). I knew quite a few people who'd been & it didn't disappoint!
The decor was amazing (it changes every January apparently) & we spent our time chatting away about our first year & future plans :-) all the time dotted with me saying "oooh this time last year we were walking down the aisle/eating food/dancing/etc...."
The food was so yummy, we had sandwiches, cheesecake, cream tea, marshmallows & loads of little cakes which we couldn't even finish so they offered us a doggy bag to enjoy later. We even got more cakes on another place for our anniversary! It was fun because the couple next to us also got a happy anniversary plate too & it turned out they'd got married on the same day as us!
Now anyone who's been to Sketch will know I can't finish talking about the place without mentioning the egg-like toilets! Crazy! It was really weird walking around them & even weirder sat in one while a frog croaks in your ear & it's all lit up pink inside (blue for the boys apparently!). They're not to be missed!
In an attempt to walk off the cake & make room for more cake(!) we walked to Regents Park & up Primrose Hill. I'd never been before but knew the view was supposed to be great & it was! You can see right across the city. No wonder its popular at New Years!

After sitting & watching the world go by it was time to head home for more tea & cake with my hubby of one year! Whoop!

Ladies what #ldnlunch

After a few deep breaths I plucked up the courage to walk into the Jetlag bar in Fitzrovia & meet some fellow blogging lovelies. I'd first heard about Ldnlunch On Eloise's blog . I'd always wanted to go to a blogger meet so I put my name down straight away. I was a bit nervous when I realised there were about 40 other girls going who's blogs were mainly about fashion, whereas mine is just random ramblings from inside my brain box but decided I'd still go seeing as I had nothing to lose! I arrived expecting to be early but there were already lots of people sitting down for drinks & food so I grabbed a drink & perched on a pooffe. I just ordered a bowl of chips (how adventurous!) but I did pick off the plates around me (yoink! Thanks Lois! ). Londoners pt1

For Chrimbo Adam gave me a book called "Londoners. The days & nights of London now - as told by those who love it, hate it, live it, left it & long for it" by Craig Taylor. After reading the introduction & before reading any more I decided I'd think about what London & being a Londoner means to me. Even though I picked out bullet points I still got a bit carried away so I'll spread it over a few posts so here goes part 1, I'll start with the one thing that I think of straight away when someone says London to me: ~ the tube is a huge part of London life. It's about sitting on a train for an hour & not knowing what any one's face looks like only their shoes, panic attacks when the train gets stuck in a tunnel without explanation, keeping left, standing on the right spot on a platform so you'll be in front of the doors when they open & also so when you get off you'll be at the exit to the station - even if that exit says no ent

Russia Rabble 2018

Wow where did the last 6months go?! So far 2018 has been an ace one... not stopped as usual... but loved it all the same!  At the end of June Adam and I went to Russia with two friends... We went to Moscow and St Petersburg and we loved it. I knew it would be great but it was just so much nicer, friendlier and brighter than expected... check it out! late night flights... early morning landings... Greatest Showman binges (watched it 4 times in total - how amazing is this film?!)... lazy sleep breakfast... sunny morning walks... 40 winks on a park bench (due to 28hours of being awake!)... finally being able to check into our holiday apartment... another 40winks / 2hours kip... supermarket explorations... Bolshoi sightseeing... marvelous metro stations... jazzy shopping centers... twinkly lights everywhere... red square at night...  Day 2... wonderfully magical markets... pug cushion purchases... vodka for lunch...
